A woman who was sitting in her apartment was shot when a stray bullet from a shootout between two suspects came through her window early Saturday in Opa-locka, police said.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Northwest 135th Street, police said. The unidentified woman was hit in the shoulder and taken to Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition, Opa-locka Police spokesman David Chiverton said.

The incident is believed to have started around 8:30 p.m. Friday when two people got into argument in the area, Chiverton said.One of them left and returned and that's when several shots were fired.
"Several casings were found throughout the scene as well as a several cars were hit by these bullets and the walls of the apartment building along with housing across the street and vehicles across the street," Chiverton said.

Timothy Womack III, who lives across the street from the woman who was struck, said one of his windows was shot out and his uncle's car was hit three times. He said he heard several shots fired.
"I got up and ducked and ran into my grandmother's room," Womack said.
Womack said the victim appeared to be ok.
"She seemed like she was ok but hopefully, I pray to God that she's alright," he said.
