Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a grass fire in southwest Miami-Dade Sunday afternoon, officials said.
The fire was reported in the area of Southwest 147th Avenue and 215th Street.
Firefighters worked into the night and early Monday morning to contain the brush fire that burned about 45 acres.

By early Monday morning, the fire was mostly out with some small spots flaring up. About 95 percent of it was contained, officials said.
Officials said the dry weather and gusty winds made it tougher to beat back the flames.
"The stress of not having enough water and different changing winds is hampering us," Scott Peterich, with the Florida Forest Service, said Sunday.

The fire came close to a handfull of homes, and some families were told to leave.
"Everything was so black you couldn't tell the sky from the road," one resident said.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
