The man wanted in the shooting death of 16-year-old Robert Lakatos in Miami Beach last April has been arrested, police said Wednesday.
Pedro Exposito, 19, was arrested Tuesday night by the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, Miami Beach Police said.
Exposito showed up to a known drug location with several other individuals and tried to flee on foot after giving deputies a false name, police said. He was caught and his identity was revealed during the booking process when he was taken to jail, police said.
Police say Exposito gunned down Lakatos during a robbery on April 6, 2012, on the boardwalk near 79th Street. Lakatos had just moved to South Florida and was an aspiring model.
Exposito was identified as a suspect in the shooting in August.
Exposito was being held in Citrus County under a homicide warrant in Miami Beach. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
