Fort Lauderdale Police arson investigators probed a suspicous fire at a duplex on Thursday.
The power was out and the two adults and one child who live at the duplex are staying with friends, fire rescue said.
Furnance-like flames scorched a storage space dividing the duplex at 1412 NW 3rd Court at about 7 a.m.
"When I got here, I seen it up in fire. I couldn't believe it," neighbor Jerome Jackson said.

Jackson said a Good Samaritan knocked on the duplex's doors and got those inside out of the fast-moving flames.
Firefighters beat down the fire within minutes.
The storage area was heavily damaged.
