The family of Darrius Johnson, 22, the man who police say fatally stabbed his girlfriend and beat her with an Xbox, says the killing does not make sense.
His cousin, Brianna Johnson, said he had never been in trouble before and stayed away from the streets.
“He’s a good boy. He’s a supervisor at his job. Never been in trouble before this and it's just not like him to do something like this,” Brianna Johnson said.

But Brianna Johnson also said there has to be a reason why he did what he is accused of.
He repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend and beat her with an Xbox, police said. Her body was discovered after he was caught attacking a second woman, Geraldine Price, at a nearby apartment in Lauderhill, according to police.
Broward Circuit Judge John Hurley denied Darrius Johnson bond and prohibited him from any form of contact with Price.
Darrius Johnson told detectives he knew he had to sacrifice someone with a Taurus astrological sign and he spent hours deciding who he was going to sacrifice, the arrest affidavit said.
He also said Gooden had control over his spirit and that he sacrificed her for the betterment of himself and Gooden, the report said.
Darrius Johnson also told police he fought Gooden "like he was fighting a dragon" and "felt like a new man afterwards," the affidavit said.

Price said that at the moment of the attack, Darrius Johnson talked about a pink elephant laughing at him.
During the attack, the woman quickly called for her nephew’s help.
“I tore open my blinds and see this guy jumping on my auntie, just throwing her everywhere and punching her and hitting her with a chair,” said her nephew, Gerald Curtis. “As he got closer I just went stabbing at him to back him off to slow him down, but he just kept coming so I just kept going and going.”
Curtis called 911 and officers arrived in time to catch Johnson, who tried to flee the scene on foot, police said. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment for his injuries.
