Police say Maffett was behind the wheel of a white Dodge Durango when it struck the pedestrians on the sidewalk outside the restaurant before slamming into a liquor store next door.

Another person who was inside the liquor store was checked out at the scene but not badly injured. Surveillance video from inside the store showed the person narrowly escaped injuries when the vehicle plowed into the building.
