On Saturday March 23rd, she and her boyfriend went to Brian Piccolo Park for an evening workout. She said she remembers seeing just a few other people playing basketball there. Her boyfriend did sprints on the soccer field, while she jogged around the track.

Gomez said she saw her attacker riding a bike around the park, but he did not seem suspicious until he put his bike down and approached her.

"Then he just was out to get me," Gomez said.

She said the man, who she had never seen before, grabbed her waist and tackled her from behind. He straddled her to hold her down, and covered her mouth.
