Davie Police said Wednesday they are seeking to identify a man who attempted to lure three girls into his vehicle as they were walking to an elementary school.

The girls met the suspect in the parking lot of 6550 SW 39th St. on Monday at 7:11 a.m., police said.

“He asked the girls if they wanted to make some money and directed them over here to the Little Rascal's parking lot,” said police spokesman Capt. Dale Engle, referring to a daycare and preschool.

The girls went up to the vehicle – possibly a Suzuki XL7 – on the driver’s side, where the window was down, Engle said.

“They inquired with the man about how they were going to make this money,” Engle said. “I'm not quite sure of the terminology, but he alluded to some type of sexual act and (said) he would pay them.”

The girls ran away and told an adult, but the driver also got away, Engle said.

Police asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect, whom they described as a Hispanic male about 23 to 25 years old, with short to medium-length hair that was spiked at the top. He has brown eyes with bushy eyebrows, a short-trimmed, scruffy mustache, and mumbled when he spoke, according to police. He wore black pants and a black shirt, similar to a polo shirt, that had a name embroidered in white writing on the right side, they said.
