The roadway has been cleared on the Florida Keys' Seven Mile Bridge after a fatal accident Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Becky Herrin said one person died and two others were being airlifted to a Miami hospital after the accident on the north end of the bridge at about 9 p.m. It shut down traffic in both directions for hours.
The crash involved at least two vehicles, and at least one of them caught fire, according to Herrin.
