A Monroe County woman woke up to a startling surprise Wednesday morning after she found what she believed to be a nine-foot-long female crocodile nesting in her front yard.
The crocodile reportedly laid 27 eggs in her yard at 321 Tollgate Shores Drive by mile marker 74, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission experts were called to the scene to relocated the animal, said officials.
