A West Palm Beach woman set her car on fire with her dogs still inside and claimed to be God, officials said.

Alexandra Barnes, 29, poured gas on the windshield and trunk of her car at a BP gas station at 971 West International Speedway Boulevard on Wednesday in Daytona Beach. She ignited it while her two dogs sat inside, according to an incident report from the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Witnesses who work at the gas station told police that Barnes walked into the convenience store and took a yellow lighter from the display. She walked towards the gas pump, but the cashier followed her and took the lighter from her hand, says the report. She then pulled out a blue lighter from her car and set it on fire, it says.

Suspended Police Officer Charged With Impersonating a Cop

After she set the car on fire, Barnes told a bystander that her "babies" were in the car, according to a  police news release. The bystander saved the dogs and gave them to Barnes, who then sat in the middle of International Speedway Boulevard and kept saying she was God, says the release.

The clerk was able to shut off the gas before an explosion could occur.

When an officer arrived, he found her saying that people were hunting her down just like they hunted her father, that she had a chip in her, and that the people hunting her were going to press a button and kill the world, says the incident report.

Barnes was taken to Halifax Medical Center under the Baker Act, the report says. The two dogs were taken to the police department and placed in kennels with food and water.
