HOUSE PASSES LIMITED HEALTH CARE BILL

The Florida House has passed its majority-backed health care plan, which would provide health coverage to about 115,000 residents. It uses $237 million in state funds to give recipients $2,000 a year to choose their own insurance plan. This sets up a staring contest between the House and the Senate in the final week of the legislative session.

UCF WOULD-BE SHOOTER HAD ALCOHOL IN SYSTEM

An autopsy report says the former college student behind an aborted attack plot at the University of Central Florida was intoxicated at the time he committed suicide. The autopsy report on James Seevakumaran released Friday shows he had alcohol intoxication in his body but was free of any illegal drugs.

SOUTHEAST POLICE MOTORCYCLE RODEO

Over 150 police motorcycle units from all over the eastern United States, including local deputies from the Broward Sheriff's Office, will roll out for the 24th annual Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SENATE APPROVES $200 MILLION BANK SETTLEMENT

The Senate is spelling out how the state will use a $200 million settlement with major banks. The money is from a $25 billion settlement with attorneys general across the country to end investigations over foreclosure abuses.

COAST GUARD SEIZES $27 MILLION IN COCAINE

The United States Coast Guard says one of its cutters seized $27 million in cocaine after stopping a fishing boat in the western Caribbean Sea. The 2,200 pounds of cocaine was brought to Miami on Friday, where it will be transferred to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

DISNEY'S OLDEST CRUISE SHIP GETS MAKEOVER

Disney Cruise Line's ship, the Magic, is getting a makeover that includes a children's area themed on Marvel Comics superheroes and a three-story water slide. The ship launched in 1998.
