Sheriff's Deputy Wrestled Alligator, Tied It Up: Report

A Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office deputy wrestled an alligator over 10 feet long that was snapping at cars early Tuesday, WFLA reported.

A woman called 911 shortly before 6 a.m. and reported that the gator – which was snapping at passing cars near Tampa and East Lake roads – was outside a dentist office, according to WFLA.

Sheriff’s deputies and a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer found the gator, and Deputy Jeffrey Crandall tied it up with a rope, WFLA reported.

Photos from the sheriff’s office show Crandall sitting on the alligator as he held its jaws shut.

Father Saved Son From Gator Attack

The reptile was taken to an animal facility, WFLA added.
