Florda Highway Patrol is investigating a hit and run that killed a tow truck driver early Saturday morning in Miami.
The tow truck driver was assisting a disabled car on southbound State Road 874 by Killian Parkway at about 3 a.m. when another car veered into the emergency lane, struck the tow truck driver and drove away, said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez.

The tow truck driver died, who was not immediately identified, died on the scene, Sanchez said.
"This is a perfect example of the 'Move Over' law," Sanchez said. "These are individuals that are out here providing assitance, and we ask motorists to respect the law, which is to move over a lane and reduce their speed."

Officials are looking for an older model, burgundy BMW with damage to the front right side. Sanchez said the outside rear view mirror should be missing and the right side passenger window should be shattered.
