Four people were hospitalized following a violent crash in Kendall late Sunday night, authorities said.
The crash happened just before midnight in the area of Southwest 104th Street and Southwest 134th Avenue when two cars slammed into each other at the intersection, sending one of the cars into a light pole and fence.
Three of the victims were taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center and one was taken to Baptist Hospital. Their conditions ranged from serious to critical.
"We did have some serious injuries," Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Ray Jadallah said. "We did have two patients that were heavily trapped. Two patients required some extensive extrication."
It's unknown what caused the crash.
