The South Florida teen who flipped off a Miami-Dade judge during an infamous courthouse confrontation appeared in court Friday afternoon for a hearing on her drug rehabilitation.
Penelope Soto, 18, has passed all of the drug tests mandated by the court, and Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Jeri Cohen said she was happy with her progress.
Soto made national news during a Feb. 4 bond hearing before Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat when she was sentenced to 30 days in jail for contempt of court after cursing and giving him the middle finger.

The sentence was dropped four days later when Soto, who had been arrested on a Xanax possession charge, apologized to Rodriguez-Chomat. Her attorney said she had been impaired by her ingestion of drugs and alcohol when she made the obscene gesture.
