Coast Guard crews are searching for an Alaska man who went missing Tuesday during a boat trip from Fort Myers to Key West.
Jay Rydberg, 40, went on on his 39-foot Trimaran Monday but never arrived in Key West as planned, Coast Guard officials said.
The Coast Guard received a distress alert early Tuesday from the boat, 3/4 Time, about 30 miles north of Key West.
The crew of the Coast Guard cutter Marlin from Fort Myers, an HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft from Miami, and a rescue helicopter and HC-130 Hercules from Clearwater were launched to search for Rydberg and his boat.
The Coast Guard cutter Pea Island, from Key West, is scheduled to relieve the Marlin crew.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Coast Guard at 305-415-6800.
