Two pedestrians were killed after they were struck by a minivan while crossing the road in Margate early Thursday, police said.
The crash happened at about 12:22 a.m. at the intersection of North State Road 7 and Northwest 8th Street, Margate Police spokesman Lt. Gary Paquin said.

The two pedestrians, a man and a woman, were struck by a 2011 Toyota Sienna. The driver of the van stayed at the scene and wasn't injured.
Margate Fire Rescue pronounced the man and woman dead at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Paquin said.

The identities of the victims aren't being released pending notification of next of kin, Paquin said.
