Days after a man was killed in a hit-and-run, his family made a plea for help.
"Derek didn't deserve this. He was a good man," said Tania Quintal, the victim's ex-wife. "He didn't deserve to die this way."
John Derek Quintal, 49, was killed while he was riding his bike. He was hit just after 9 o'clock Sunday night after a car hit him on Sunset Strip in Sunrise, police said.
"I was all he had. I'm his only child," 27-year-old Jonathan Quintal said. "He was great. A great father, a great person, a great grandfather."
He, along with Sunrise Police, are asking the public for help.

At the crime scene, a bear and flowers are tied to a speed limit sign where Quintal died. His fiancee said it's just two blocks away from their home.
"It's a nightmare," Kaly Freidenreich said. "The fact that someone can do that and not stop is unforgivable."

The vehicle that hit Quintal should have front, right headlight damage. The man's family is hoping someone calls police.
"We need closure," Tania Quintal said. "We need the person who did this to come forward."
