The victim, an elderly man, is believed to have died from smoke inhalation, officials said.
Fire officials said the flames started in a bedroom and the man was found in the kitchen. It's unknown how the fire began.
Relatives identified the man as Dalblemar Domerson, a native of Haiti.
"My heart is hurting, said brother-in-law Benito Jacotin, whose wife is Domerson's sister. "I don't know how I'm going to tell her what happened."
