A 31-year-old Deerfield Beach man is being held on $7,500 bond after he hit a child multiple times with an iPad cord, authorities said.
Jean Georges faces one count of cruelty toward a child after the Sunday incident, according to authorities.

He hit a girl with a white iPad cord, leaving bruises and a laceration on her lower back, a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report said. Bruises consistent with an iPad cord were also seen on the back of her left hand, on the front of her left thigh and in “an elongated loop mark” below her neck, according to the report.

Georges was arrested on Monday and is being held at the Broward County Main Jail, online BSO records said. It wasn’t immediately known whether he has an attorney.
