One man is being held without bond and another is still on the run after a Fort Lauderdale shooting that left one man hospitalized.

Kevon J. Obas, 20, was arrested Tuesday in Lauderhill for his suspected connection with the May 16 shooting at the Champion Food Store on 2409 NW 15 Court, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance images show Obas and another man walking into the store close to 1 a.m., police said. They approach two men who are playing craps off-camera and one of the suspects takes out a gun. The images show the two victims running away as the two suspects shoot at them.

One of the victims, 25-year-old Damian Royer, falls to the ground as the suspects chase the second victim, authorities said. Shortly after, a black, two-door Pontiac G6 pulls up next to him. A man gets out of the car, searches Royer's pockets, gets back in the car and drives away.

Royer was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in critical condition. Officials said he will likely be a quadriplegic if he survives.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information about the shooting contact Detective Devoune Williams at 954-321-4235 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
