Authorities say a man's dream of opening his own race car business was crushed when his trailer containing thousands of dollars worth of car parts was stolen in Oakland Park.

The theft happened the morning of May 19 in front of an industrial park in the 4700 block of Northwest 8th Terrace, where the trailer was parked, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

According to the BSO, two suspects in a white cargo van were caught on camera hauling the trailer away. The 2011, tan-colored, 7x14, double-axle, V-nose trailer contained about $12,000 worth of car parts that were invaluable to their owner who was hoping to open his own racing business.

The van is a mid-90s to early 2000 Ford Econoline with a glass window on the passenger-side sliding door, steel wheels, black rear and front bumpers and a black grill. It also has a Sunpass on the windshield and a white Apple sticker on the driver's side mirror.

Anyone with information on the van or trailer is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
