A police officer was injured after being hit by a car that ultimately crashed into a Miami preschool Tuesday, Miami Police said.
Police attempted to pull over a car that matched the description of a cop impersonator, but the vehicle hit the officer on foot, Miami Police spokeswoman Officer Kenia Reyes said.
He was thrown into the air, sustained neck and back pain and was taken to Ryder Trauma Center but will be OK, Reyes said.
Other officers chased the Nissan, which crashed into a preschool at Northeast 2nd Avenue and 28th Street, police said.
Two people were taken into custody, Reyes said. Neither the male or female from the Nissan was injured, Miami Fire-Rescue spokesman Lt. Ignatius Carroll said.
Their car also hit a gray SUV, and one person from that vehicle was taken to Ryder, Carroll said.
