A Maryland woman was being held on $250 bond Wednesday after becoming intoxicated on a flight to South Florida, where she was headed for a rehabilitation program.

Heather Dykman, 40, was arrested Tuesday night on charges of disorderly conduct, according to a Broward County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Dykman was on her way to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport on a Spirit Airlines flight from Baltimore when a flight attendant noticed she had become intoxicated after having two vodka beverages. When the flight attendant cut her off, Dykman walked to the galley and began to yell racial slurs as she demanded alcohol, extending her middle finger at flight attendants for the rest of the trip, the report said.

She was apprehended by Broward deputies at gate H-7 where officials say she resisted arrest and continued to use racial slurs in front of about 300 passengers who were in the concourse.

When Broward County Circuit Judge John Hurley asked Dykman how long she planned to stay in South Florida, she said she had flown down for a 30-day rehab program.

"It apparently didn't start of on the right foot, ma'am," Hurley said.

She responded by saying, "No, sir."

Hurley set Dykman's bond on the condition that she stay away from alcohol and Spirit Airlines flights.
