Broward deputies have arrested two men suspected of robbing a Deerfield Beach AT&T store at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.
The two men took a stash of cell phones from the store at 411 S. Federal Highway, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office statement.
Officials say the two men forced a dozen people - 11 employees and one customer - at gunpoint into a backroom. They then ordered a manager to open a secured stock area and loaded a garbage bag with cell phones.
They fled south on Federal Highway in a black 1999 Chevrolet SUV driven by a woman.
Cell Phone Robbery Totals to at Least $16,000
Detectives then found the two men in a white Toyota Camry after conducting a traffic stop in the 900 block of NE 3rd Avenue in Pompano Beach.
Investigators are still determining whether the robbery is connected to two suspicious incidents at two Pompano Beach stores earlier in the day.
Officials have not released the names of the suspects.
Detectives are looking for the driver of the black SUV that had this license tag number: BRT-M05. Anyone with information is urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477 or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
