A 91-year-old woman and her 63-year-old daughter are in the hospital with facial injuries after their home was invaded Thursday by two men who faked that they were making a delivery, Miami-Dade Police said.
The two armed suspects forced their way into the home at 331 SW 87th Path, with one tying up Berta Garcia and her daughter Karla Vigon-Montenegro, police said.
The men then took their car – a white 2010 Lexus LS 460 with license plate number 993 XUJ, police said. Both suspects had guns and one was wearing a mask, according to police.
Vigon-Montenegro freed herself to call 911 at about 3:45 p.m., police said.
A family member was at the house trying to determine what was taken from it besides cash.
