A Deerfield Beach woman scared away an intruder with a toy gun.
Jane Rainboth, who lives on Trace Circle, stopped an intruder by showing him a gun, which happened to be fake, according to a Broward County arrest report.
When Rainboth woke up Monday night because of her dog's barking, she saw a man, later identified as Roland Stuart Jr., 27, in her room, the report said.
Rainboth reached for her son's toy hand gun and screamed: "I have a gun!"
Stuart then left her room and Rainboth called the police, the report said.
While at Rainboth's house, police said they saw the back patio screen cut and a sliding glass door pried open.
Stuart was spotted by a police dog leaving a wooded area in the 500 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue, the report said.
He was arrested and charged with unarmed burglary. As of Thursday, he was still in jail on a $75,000 bond, according to online jail records.
