Florida Power & Light will demolish four stacks at its 1960s-era Port Everglades Power Plant, the company said Monday.
The four red-and-white-striped stacks are 350 feet tall with 7,500-ton boilers.
They are being demolished on July 16, in order to create a new, high efficiency, power plant, the company said.
The new plant will produce electricity to power 260,000 homes and businesses.
