More than 400 pages of new documents have been released by the Broward State Attorney's Office related to its case against Cid Torrez.

He was arrested in November on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, Vilet Torrez, and has pleaded not guilty.

A month earlier, Cid Torrez started a relationship with another woman, according to a statement included in the just-released documents.

Daviana Fry, a Lehigh Acres Realtor, told police she met Torrez at a Halloween party.
Afterward, she told police, they were kissing and touching outside a hotel. His three children were waiting in his car.

He paid her a visit a week later, "and uh, we uh, we were sitting and talking and, and he said, you know my wife, my wife is missing, you know she, she is um disappeared," Fry recalled in her statement.

Vilet Torrez disappeared in late March, and her body has never been found.

According to Fry’s statement, Cid Torrez told her to look on the Internet for stories about his wife’s disappearance. Despite this, Fry's relationship with Torrez intensified quickly. But a conversation they had later concerned her, she said.

"You know, we were sitting in the car and you know he was staring at me like he usually does and then um he told me, he says, are you sure you want to continue with this relationship. He says I can be dangerous,” Fry stated.

She said she asked him what he meant by dangerous.

“He goes I, I can be a dangerous man,” Fry said.

A few days before Torrez was arrested, she broke up with him. Police recorded that telephone conversation, according to the documents.

They also included a sworn statement from a volunteer with the Christian Family Movement in Hialeah.

Rafael Nunez, who met Cid and Vilet Torrez at a marriage retreat six years ago, told police about going to the troubled couple's home during a fight about eight months before she disappeared.

"And then she said, you know, 'He was, he was gonna to try to kill me' that day. You know what, that's what happened just before I got there,” Nunez told a detective. He added that Vilet Torrez said she would be strangled.

Cid Torrez’s attorney, Richard Della Fera, said he is combing through all the documents. In response to what Fry and Nunez told police, Della Fera said, "The credibility of these statements has yet to be shown. I am looking forward to the opportunity to take these witnesses’ depositions."

His client remains behind bars without bond, online jail records said. No trial date has been set.
