Hundreds of women flocked to the Conrad Hotel in Brickell in hopes of bidding on and winning a date Tuesday night. Carolina Rueda was one of them.

"I'm definitely going to keep it classy and let the best lady win," she said.

Winning for Rueda would have meant staying within her $500 budget; but, by the end of the night, she found herself $100 over budget, but also with an eligible bachelor. Her fellow bidder, Stephanie Guzman, didn't anticipate any buyer's remorse.

"I think that the fact that it's for a good cause makes it easier to spend the money," Guzman said.

The money raised Tuesday will go towards Switchboard of Miami, a local hotline connecting those in crisis to real-time counseling. The second annual "Singles for Switchboard" auction was headed by "Real Housewives of Miami" star Karrent Sierra.

The event enlisted bachelors of all kinds: doctors, entrepeneurs, and even men in uniform. All, like Travis Davis, hoped they wouldn't wind up as cheap Valentine's Day dates.

"I'll at least say, like, 500, I guess, that's a good number," said Davis.
