A waterspout came ashore in Pompano Beach Friday, sending several tents flying and leaving three people with minor injuries, a city spokeswoman said.
One of the injured, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to Broward Health North, Pompano Beach spokeswoman Sandra King said.
The waterspout moved on shore at about 3:45 p.m. during a lifeguard competition near the Pompano Beach Fishing Pier, the National Weather Service reported.
King said it came ashore just south of the pier.
