A woman who left her 4-year-old son with a babysitter and went missing was located in Pompano Beach, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Monday.
Investigators received information Saturday regarding the location of the woman, who wasn't identified, and authorities were able to contact her about her child.
Her son, whom she left with a neighbor to babysit earlier in the week in northern Broward, remained in custody of the Department of Children and Families Monday.
The woman left the child with the neighbor on Monday and said she would return to pick the boy up after a day or two, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
When the child suffered a medical condition, the neighbor took him to the hospital and alerted deputies.
Officials did not immediately release additional details of the investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Broward Sheriff's Office at (954) 797-5299.
