Two people were shot and one person was injured by shattered glass after a Miami Gardens shooting Monday morning, according to police.
The victims were pulled out of their car and one was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
The shooting happened around 6 a.m. near Northwest 6th Court and 191st Street.
Police said a Nissan with three passengers inside was traveling northbound leaving a strip club.
A black SUV drove up beside them, and a shooter opened fire into the Nissan before taking off, authorities said. A witness says the shooter stuck the weapon out of the SUV's sunroof.
The driver of the Nissan drove westbound on 191 Street looking for safety and stopped near Northwest 7th Avenue, where help arrived.
The name of the victims has not been released and police continue to investigate.
“We want this to be solved we have a female that is critical and want to make sure justice is served,” said Miami Gardens Police Det. Mike Wright.
A second car was caught in the crossfire but the driver wasn’t seriously injured, police said.
Jeffrey Lefore said the Miami Gardens neighborhood where the incident happened is becoming unsafe.
“That’s how I’m feeling personally, it’s becoming an unsafe neighborhood and I’m thinking about moving,” Lefore said.
