Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in southwest Miami-Dade Friday morning.
The incident happened just before 6 a.m. when a 2013 Ford Escape struck the pedestrian at U.S. 1 and Southwest 67th Avenue, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities aren't identifying the pedestrian pending notification of next of kin. The driver stayed at the scene.
The crash shut down a portion of U.S. 1 southbound between Southwest 67th Avenue and West 80th Street as authorities investigated the incident.
