The Alton Road flyover coming into Miami Beach will re-open by midnight Tuesday, about a day and a half of schedule, the Florida Department of Transportation announced.
The bridge connecting the eastbound MacArthur Causeway with northbound Alton Road has been closed since July 15 as contractors rebuilt the base and replaced the guardrail of the flyover.
The flyover work is part of a larger project to make upgrades on a stretch of more than 15 blocks along Alton Road from 5th Street to Michigan Avenue.
That project, which began April 1, is due to last through the summer of 2015 and will cost an estimated $32 million, the FDOT said.
