The Florida Highway Patrol is bringing awareness to hit-and-runs across the state, saying that it's gone from bad to worse.
“There are no words you can say to someone to ease their pain. You can sympathize with them you can empathize with them but you really don’t feel the pain they go through," said Kevin Reddick whose 20-year-old son Kevin Reddick Jr. was killed in 2010 in Alachua County.
“Our entire family is never going to be the same," said Jennifer Kline whose sister-in-law, Christina Pokrajak, was killed off of Inerstate 95 Southbound and Sample Road.
Jennifer Richards’ 23-year-old daughter, Renada Evans, was killed in 2004 of Miramar Parkway and northbound I-75.
“How would you feel how would you react? Would you want justice?” she said.
Those were a few emotional words from family members each affected by hit-and-run crashes. FHP reports Florida has seen an increase of these deadly hit-and-run crashes over the last two years.

Police say that this past weekend Jose Monserrate-Dural sped away from a hit-and-run wreck in Davie that killed a bicyclist.
“Last year Florida law enforcement agencies alone worked 70-thousand hit-and-run crashes in the state of Florida," said FHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.
Of those crashes in 2012, nearly 17,000 people were injured and 166 people were killed. More than 20,000 crashes occurred in Broward and Miami-Dade counties alone.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-runs is urged to contact Broward or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
