Police are investigating after a man was shot in Fort Lauderdale during what's believed to have been a robbery attempt.
The shooting happened sometime before 6:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Northeast 13th Street, Fort Lauderdale Police spokeswoman Det. DeAnna Greenlaw said.
Greenlaw said the victim, a white male was approached by the suspect for a possible robbery. During the confrontation, the victim was shot in the stomach, Greenlaw said.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was in surgery Tuesday morning. Detectives are hoping he can help catch the suspect once he is out of surgery, Greenlaw said.
