A phony cop directed a Tamarac driver to pull over before he smashed her car’s window and robbed her, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

On Wednesday the agency released a sketch of the suspect, who it said robbed Brookelya Parrish of her cell phone and laptop during their encounter on Aug. 13. He also tried to grab her purse, but the 21-year-old woman held on to it and wrenched it back from him, the BSO said.

Last Tuesday at about 5:34 p.m., the fake officer, who wore a badge on his belt, stood in the middle of the road at 6700 Northwest 57th Street and pulled over Parrish, who thought she would get a speeding ticket, the BSO said.

When the man ordered her to get out of her car Parrish felt something wasn’t right, however, so she rolled up her passenger window. The suspect then used what looked like a crowbar to smash the window before grabbing her purse from the front passenger seat. After their struggle, he ran back to his dark-colored Ford Taurus with her phone and computer, according to the BSO.
