Three children from Illinois were found safe with their parents in the Florida Keys hours after a missing child alert was issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, officials said.

The children were found around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday after a traffic stop near Mile Marker 25, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

All the children were fine but were taken by the Department of Children and Families. Their parents, Arthur Fletcher, 32, and Kirsten Kelly-Fletcher, 28, were questioned by authorities and later released, the FHP said.

On Monday, the FDLE had issued an alert for Artistic Fletcher, 1, Nicholas Lane, 5, and Damien Kelly, 7, who were last seen in Kankakee, Illinois.

The FDLE had said they may be in the company of Fletcher and Kelly-Fletcher.

According to the FHP, the children were found after an officer spitted a vehicle matching the description from the missing child alert.

When he ran the Illinois license plate, it came back to Kirsten Fletcher, the FHP said.

According to the FHP, the FDLE is investigating the case and will determine whether any charges will be filed.
