Hundreds of bank representatives and counselors will be at in Miami on Thursday for a five-day event to help homeowners with mortgages they cannot afford.
The free event is organized by the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America and walk-ins are accepted.
People were already lining up early Wednesday.
"I got into trouble," explained Alberto Mesa about losing his job. He's trying to save his condo on Miami Beach that he's owned since 1980.
It is being hosted at the the James L. Knight International Center in Miami from 8 .am. to 6 p.m. every day through March 11.
Homeowners will have a chance to lower their montly payments and new buyers have a chance to get a better mortgage.
NACA says it helps homeowners save between $500 adn $1,000 from their montly mortgage payment.
"I know this program is a great program," said Stehany Delgado, whose family fell behind on payments. "We're trying to keep our house."
