A suspect who barricaded himself in an Oakland Park home Friday called 911 at one point and said that a warrant for him had no value, authorities said.
A Broward Sheriff’s Office deputy went to 780 NE 46th Court to serve a warrant at about 11 a.m., BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.
The suspect refused to come out and barricaded himself inside, she said. He also told a 911 dispatcher that the warrant was not valid and that authorities could not arrest him, she said.

Moschella said the suspect sent one of his dogs outside to charge at the deputy, who shot the animal once. The dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
The suspect surrendered at about 2:45 p.m., Moschella said.
