A total of 84 people have been arrested in incidents related to the Ultra Music Festival, Miami Police officials said Monday.

The majority of the arrests were due to disorderly conduct, narcotics and people who tried to enter without paying, police said.

But police noted that the arrests made for narcotics were minimal.

Despite concerns about traffic and drug use, Miami City Commission previously agreed to extend the festival. The festival will continue for a second weekend, starting Friday at 5 p.m.

Brickell resident Rob Schmid biked near the site to size up the scene.

"Well, I actually, purposely went by to look at it, it's not my kind of event, I don't like big crowds, but it was pretty safe getting through it," he said.

Commission Chairman Marc Sarnoff told NBC 6 South Florida in January that the second weekend was a bad idea in part because of all of the drugs.

“The second weekend also concerns me with the amount of drug consumption. As you know, ecstasy and LSD are the mainstay drugs there,” Sarnoff said.

The Ultra weekend began on a sour note when four people who were injured after a LED display that hung from a stage fell at one of the festival's sites.
