Miami Police are investigating an attempted arson attack after someone threw a Coke bottle filled with gasoline into a home early Wednesday.
Police say a woman and her 8-year-old son were inside the home in southwest Miami when the bottle was thrown through a window around 2 a.m.
The bottle hit a bed and didn't explode, and no one was hurt. The woman and her son were in another bedroom, police said.
Firefighters said the thickness of the glass bottle helped prevent the Molotov Cocktail from igniting anything.
Police said the incident could be related to some type of domestic situation.
Neighbors said they were stunned by the incident.
"I'm baffled," said Otano Dunieski, who lives next to the home that was attacked. "Nothing like this has ever happened before."
