An Orlando high school teacher, voted "Teacher of the Year" last year, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student, authorities said.
Hugh Broomes, who teaches language arts and coaches the girls' soccer team at Jones High School, is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.

He faces charges of sexual battery and unlawful sex with a minor for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student, according to WESH.
Authorities said that from the time the relationship started in November, Broomes is believed to have had sex on campus at least 10 times.
Broomes was awarded “Teacher of the Year” for the 2011-2012 school year, WESH said.
