Miami Police were searching for five men who broke into an auto repair shop with a white pickup truck and stole parts and motorcycles.
Renato O. Medvescig, owner of the shop called Rom Carpentry, at 2335 NW 8th Avenue, said the thieves stole a $9,000 dirt bike he had bought for his son. He said he has has insurance and was very upset about the theft, which occurred around 3 a.m. Friday.
The suspects drove into the shop's gate, burglarized the shop and then crashed a few blocks away, leaving the truck and the stolen goods. Police are investigating.
The shop owner said other businesses in the area have had dirt bikes stolen too.
