Showers were pushing offshore Friday after a night of heavy rains and thunderstorms across South Florida.
Storms were expected throughout the day, but were forecast to let up by night. The temperatures were starting out in the mid-60s, as part of a cold front that will be tracking to the east through the state on Friday. The high for teh day was expected to reach 79 degrees.
