The two young boys were reported kidnapped in North Miami Monday have been found safe, police said Tuesday.

North Miami Police say 5-year-old Daren Bonilla and 3-year-old Rey Bonilla were found safe inside a car with a woman believed to be an acquaintance or friend of the mother during a traffic stop early Tuesday.

"The young lady we were looking for with the children has been found. The children were with her. Everybody's safe here at North Miami Police," North Miami Police spokesman Det. Felix Guadarrama said.

"The investigation led us to a couple of addresses where she might be at. We were able to spot a couple of vehicles. Eventually, one of the vehicles started moving. We were able to confirm there was a female and children in the car," he said.

Police stopped the car and realized it was the woman and children. Detectives were interviewing the woman, police said.

He also said: "The kids are perfectly fine."

Asked if the woman would face charges, Guadarrama said "most probably."

"She took the kids without the mother even knowing," he said.

The boys were reported kidnapped around 5 p.m. Monday at 13200 Northeast 7th Avenue by their mother, Charmen Bonilla.

Police say Bonilla reported the boys were taken by a woman. Bonilla was running an errand when the woman told the babysitter that she had to take the kids somewhere, and before the babysitter knew it, the children were in a vehicle with the woman, according to police.

In an interview with NBC 6 South Florida early Tuesday, Bonilla said she knows the woman through a friend and that the woman often plays with her children.

Bonilla also said she doesn't want the woman prosecuted.

"I don't like to do harm to anybody. My kids are home, in one piece, and that's what I'm grateful for," she said.
