A man was arrested after setting his hospital bed ablaze, Hollywood Police said Monday.
Joel Basenburg faces arson charges after lighting up his bed at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Police arrived at the hospital Sunday after getting reports of a burning odor coming from Basenburg’s room.
When police entered the room they saw the fire, which was caused by a small, handheld lighter, the arrest report said.

Basenburg had been transported to the hospital in reference to the Marchman Act, authorities said.

Hospital surveillance cameras proved that Basenburg was responsible for the fire.
He is being held in Broward County Jail on a $10,000 bond. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
