A Punta Gorda school nurse was arrested after driving to work drunk, authorities said.

Police found Noreen Freeman, 57, in the parking lot of Baker Elementary School Tuesday after receiving a call about a reckless driver, according to a Charlotte County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Freeman failed a field sobriety test and blew more than three times the legal alcohol limit, police said.

Although she initially said she just wasn't feeling well, the officer said she smelled like alcohol and was slurring her words. After further questioning, Freeman admitted she had a Vodka and coke the night before, the report said. She also said she was on a medication called Meclizine, an antihistamine.

Freeman was released on a $750 bond. She has not been suspended, instead taking the last week of the school year off, and the school district is offering her substance abuse help, according to NBC affiliate WBBH.
